Several North Dakota lawmakers defend Donald Trump after conviction in New York

BISMARCK, ND — All three members of North Dakota’s congressional delegation – as well as state Governor Doug Burgum – are condemning the jury verdict in former President Trump’s criminal hush-money trial.

Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven, as well as Congressman Kelly Armstrong, all criticized what they characterized as a one-sided, kangaroo court that delivered a verdict that establishes Trump as the first-ever former U.S. President to become a convicted felon.

Senator Cramer reportedly likened the New York judge and prosecutors in the case as members of “a kangaroo court in a Third-World city.”
