Burlington man dies in train strike after vehicle becomes stuck on tracks

BURLINGTON, ND — A Burlington man is dead following a vehicle crash in the town

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the collision happened at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in Burlington, North Dakota, near the intersection of Colton Avenue and Railway Street North when a truck attempted to cross train tracks near a gravel lot and became stuck. A Canadian Pacific train collided with the vehicle on its driver’s side shortly afterwards. The driver, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
