(Fargo, ND) — North Dakota republican congressional candidate Rick Becker says he’s not afraid to shut down the federal government in order to get concessions from democrats.
“We don’t want to shut it down for kicks, I guess, but I’m not afraid to shut it down because what will happen? Well, you may not be able to visit a national park, and some federal workers will have their paychecks delayed, but everyone is still going to get social security checks on time,” said Becker.
The candidate made the comments while appearing on the Flag’s Steve Hallstrom Show.
Becker is seeking the congressional seat currently help by Kelly Armstrong, who is running for governor.
