(Bismarck, ND) – North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction, Kirsten Baesler, has issued a statement after advancing to the November election.
“First and foremost, I want to thank my family, friends and supporters who gave their time, donated to my campaign, put signs in their yards and wrote letters of support. Without you our success today would not have been possible,” she said. “I am committed to working hard with you all again as we secure another victory in November! Our students, families and teachers deserve nothing less.”
Baesler will face challenger Jason Heitkamp in the November general election. Heitkamp, a former state legislator, defeated Jim Bartlett, who won the GOP letter of support at the state convention in Fargo, by nearly three percentage points.
