MN State Trooper charged with manslaughter faced multiple complaints about driving

ROCHESTER, MN — A state trooper who’s been charged with manslaughter for a deadly crash in Rochester has had several previous complaints about his driving.

Shane Roper was charged Tuesday for the May death of 18-year-old Olivia Flores. The state police released records yesterday indicating that Roper had four previous reprimands and two suspensions for incidents related to his driving. One incident in 2019 led to a crash into another state patrol vehicle and injury to the other driver.

Roper is now facing multiple charges including second-degree manslaughter, criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicle operation.
