RED LAKE NATION – Red Lake officials are observing the 20th anniversary of a deadly school shooting on Friday.
A remembrance ceremony is scheduled to take place at 3:45 PM in the gymnasium at Red Lake High School. It’s hosted by a local organization formed by survivors of the shooting. The event is set to include a walk of remembrance.
In 2005 five students, a teacher and a security guard were shot and killed. The alleged shooter turned the gun on himself.
Community leaders hope to raise money for a memorial to honor the victims.
