Rural Frazee man dies in Becker County crash

(BECKER COUNTY, MINN) — A 74-year-old rural Frazee man has died following a crash near Little Toad Lake in Becker County.

Earlier today, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash on County Hwy. 56, west of 400th Avenue, near Little Toad Lake. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, had been westbound on County Highway 56 when it left the roadway entering the south ditch. The vehicle then rolled and struck a power pole. Amale and lone occupant was found inside the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male has been identified as Mathew John Mess, age 74, of rural Frazee.

The crash remains under investigation.

Department, Frazee Fire Department, Frazee Rescue, Essentia-St. Mary’s EMS, and Wild Rice Power Company.
