(RURAL WARREN, MINN) – The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested on a pair of felony second degree assault charges.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call from a rural Warren man earlier this week stating people were coming after him and he had a gun. The man was ‘very intoxicated,’ the sheriff’s office said, and said there was ‘a lot of blood.’
Deputies arrived on scene and dispatchers told the man, identified as Cory Jones, to put the gun down and walk outside to the deputies. He complied and a deputy stayed outside while two others entered the home, where they noticed blood and bullet holes in the ceiling, on the walls and on windows. There was a bolt action revolver laying on the bed.
Jones was taken to the hospital where he said a man was at his house, beat him up and caused injuries.
Deputies went to the male’s home to investigate. The male stated he beat Jones up after Jones fired a total of seven rounds from a .308 rifle. The male stated that Jones was acting weird in the shop and went to the house to check on him, when Jones pointed the rifle at him, firing the rounds.
