SD postal leaders disagree with Trump’s idea to privatize USPS

SOUTH DAKOTA – South Dakota postal workers are not welcoming President-Elect Donald Trump’s recent idea to privatize the postal service.

Trump says he’s critical of USPS because it isn’t profitable.

South Dakota’s American Postal Workers Union President Todd West believes it would not be good for rural communities because the cost to deliver in small towns will force changes due to the emphasis on turning a profit.

Sioux Falls local vice president Manny Lopez says Trump is not understanding what the Postal Service was created for saying it was never meant to turn a profit, but rather offer a service to the American people.
