Second Harvest Heartland CEO to resign

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – The head of Minnesota’s largest social service nonprofit is stepping down.

Allison O’Toole is the CEO of the Brooklyn Park-based Second Harvest Heartland food bank. It partners with more than 1,000 food shelves in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

She’s leaving a month after a Minnesota House committee questioned her receiving a salary close to six times more than what Governor Tim Walz makes.

O’Toole will leave her position in June. The nonprofit’s Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Moberg will take over as interim CEO.
