Speaker Johnson: House will investigate Trump shooting

(Washington, DC) — Speaker Mike Johnson says the House will investigate the assassination attempt at Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.

Trump was speaking at the campaign event Saturday when shots were fired and Secret Service rushed him off stage. His campaign released a statement saying a bullet hit Trump’s upper ear, but he’s been evaluated at a hospital and is okay. Johnson later announced the House will be conducting a full investigation. He wrote “The American people deserve to know the truth” and said they’ll have Secret Service and FBI officials appear for a hearing as soon as possible.

One person was killed and two others were badly wounded at the scene. Police say the alleged shooter is also dead.
