(FARGO, ND) – Fargo City Commissioner John Strand has landed a spot as Vice Chairman of a committee under the National League of Cities.
The City of Fargo announced Friday that Strand has been appointed Vice Chairman of the National League of Cities’ 2025 Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee. It’s a one-year term, and SGtrand will help provide direction and guidance to the National League of Cities and its federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities for a host of issues, including workforce development, children and education, public health, mental health, substance use, veterans, seniors and immigration.
“It is an honor to join the leadership of the National League of Cities Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from elected officials from across the country and share the lessons of Fargo’s exceptional local government,” remarked Commissioner Strand, who served on the committee in 2023 and 2024.
