NORTH DAKOTA – North Dakota is the deadliest state for construction workers.
In a study by personal injury lawyers with Jones & Swanson, researchers took data on deadly accidents in 2022 in construction from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. North Dakota came in first at fatalities per capita with 22 deaths per 100,000 workers.
The study finds the recent boom in the oil and gas industry in the state had led to the surge in incidents.
