Summit Carbon Solutions sues SD Public Utilities Commissioner over permit process

SOUTH DAKOTA – Carbon dioxide pipeline company Summit Carbon Solutions takes legal action against a South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner.

This lawsuit aims to block Commissioner Kristie Fiegen from weighing in on its pipeline permit.

Summit argues Fiegen’s family owns land along the proposed pipeline route creating a conflict of interest.

South Dakota is the last state that would need to approve a permit before the company can start construction on its carbon sequestration pipeline that would store carbon dioxide underground near Bismarck.
