Threat involving Ben Franklin Middle School leads to arrest of juveniles

(FARGO) – The Fargo Police Department (FPD), with the assistance of Fargo Public Schools, the Metro Area Street Crimes Unit and Federal Bureau of Investigation, investigated a threat involving Ben Franklin Middle School.

The threat, which appeared on social media, was reported to the FPD at 9:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 12. FPD investigators immediately launched an investigation that continued into Friday night and led to the arrest of two 13-year-olds for terrorizing.

When officers located one of the juveniles away from school, the juvenile was in possession of a BB gun. As a result, that juvenile was also arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. No further information can be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

The FPD wants area residents to know the department takes threats of this nature very seriously and will investigate such crimes to the fullest extent, and perpetrators will face consequences in the criminal justice system.
