(WASHINGTON, DC) – President-Elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance have officially been certified as the President and Vice President of the United States. A joint session of Congress gathered Monday afternoon to certify the results of the election.
Vice President Kamala Harris announced to those gathered that Trump and Vance received 312 electoral votes, while Harris and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz received 226 electoral votes. 270 electoral votes were needed to win the election.
Trump and Vance will officially take office on January 20 in Washington, DC
