BELTRAMI COUNTY, Minn. – Two people have been arrested for animal mistreatment in Beltrami County.
Authorities say they found more than 200 animals living in deplorable conditions at a home northeast of Bemidji in October.
Conditions did not improve after several visits.
Investigators returned to the home last month with a plan to seize the animals.
Sixty-four dogs and cats were recovered and police believe some of the missing animals may have been burned in a woodstove.
Debra Marshall and Douglas Erickson are due in court December 30.
