(REGIONAL) — The U.S. Court of Appeals has reversed a U.S. District Court decision that ruled in favor of McKenzie County in a case against the Department of the Interior.
The case was relating to mineral royalties on lands in McKenzie County. The county sued the Department of Interior claiming the ‘royalty interests as its own and that previous litigation settled the matter.’
The Court of Appeals ruled the ‘district court erred in entering judgment in favor of the County, and its judgment must be reversed.’
