SAUDI ARABIA – The U.S. says Ukraine is ready to accept a proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30 day ceasefire in its war with Russia.
That’s according to a joint statement from the two countries after their meeting in Saudi Arabia.
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said the U.S. will immediately lift the pause on military aid and intel sharing with Ukraine. The statement said the ceasefire is subject to acceptance and implementation by Russia.
Russia and Ukraine have been fighting a war since February 2022.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Trump wants the violence to end.
