Valley Corn Maize kicks off year nine in East Grand Forks

(EAST GRAND FORKS, MINN) – For the ninth year, the Krueger family is bringing the Valley Corn Maize to life beginning today.

The maize, located along Highway 2 just east of East Grand Forks, Minn., is open every weekend through October 20. Its hours are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sundays.

This year’s theme incorporates the 75th anniversary of the Peanuts, which is in 2025. The 15 acres of corn is cut into two mazes – a small one and a larger one.

Several special days are planned, including grandparents weekend this weekend, touch-a-tractor next weekend and hometown heroes weekend September 28-29. For hometown heroes weekend, all law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, doctors, nurses, military personnel and veterans will receive free admission and a family discount for additional family members with their service ID.
