West Fargo girls hockey, softball coach resigns after internal investigation is launched

(WEST FARGO, ND) — A West Fargo coach has resigned after being told an investigation was being launched internally following concerns from student-athletes on the West Fargo United girls hockey team.

“On Friday, January 31, our high school Activities Directors were made aware of concerns from student-athletes on the West Fargo United girls hockey team regarding head coach, Pat Johnson,” a statement from West Fargo Public Schools said. “Activities leadership met with Coach Johnson on Wednesday, February 5 to inform him that an internal investigation was being opened based on these concerns. Coach Johnson chose to submit his letter of resignation from both his hockey and softball coaching positions during that meeting.”

Johnson is still employed as a teacher for the district.
