West Fargo voters to decide on school bond referendum

WEST FARGO — West Fargo Public Schools is holding a special election today for a bond referendum to address growth and future planning needs.  It comes after a $147 million referendum was voted down in 2023.  Using data collected through community open houses and staff presentations, the School Board came to consensus on 13 projects to be included.

Voters will be asked three questions.  The first one focuses on projects needed in the next 1-5 years, question 2 addresses needs for the next 6-10 years, and question 3 pertains to athletic improvements.

The total bond is $162.7 million, but voters could just decide to approve question 1 which would be less than $100 million.

If all three questions pass, taxpayers would pay an additional $7.29 a month for each $100.000 of their home’s value.  Each question must receive at least 60% of yes answers to pass.

Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.   Polling locations are listed on the school district’s website.
