Wind power company fined for disturbing Native American historic sites

NORTH DAKOTA – North Dakota regulators issue one of the largest-ever fines to a wind power company.

The Public Service Commission fined NextEra Energy of Florida $50,000 for disturbing Native American historic sites.

The company was fined for unplanned construction and permanent damage to two archaeological sites and one cultural site during a wind project in Oliver County.
