Woman faces child abuse charges in Williston following elementary school investigation

(WILLISTON) – A woman is facing Class B felony child abuse charges following an investigation at an elementary school in Williston. According to court documents, Erin Hurley was a teacher at Wilkinson Elementary School at the time of the alleged child abuse. Charging documents say Williston Police received a report in December 2023 of a child abuse occurring at the school. An investigation revealed Hurley ‘inflicted bodily injury’ to a student only identified as Jane Doe.

The Class B felony child abuse charge carries a maximum 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine or both. A bond hearing was scheduled for today, but has been canceled. A new hearing date has not been scheduled.
