(Evanston, IL) — The Minnesota Gophers had a meltdown for the ages during a 37-34 loss to Northwestern at Ryan Field on Saturday.
Minnesota had a 31-10 lead in the fourth quarter, but Northwestern scored three touchdowns in the final 12 minutes, including an 11-yard strike from Ben Bryant to AJ Henning with two seconds left in regulation. Minnesota kicked a field goal in overtime, but Northwestern scored a game-winning touchdown on a 25-yard snipe from Bryant the Charlie Mangieri a play later. Darius Taylor rushed for 198 yards and two scores in the losing effort.
Minnesota dropped to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten. The Gophers host Louisiana this Saturday.
