(Winston-Salem, NC) — Chase Elliott took advantage of pole position and brought home the checkered flag in the NASCAR Cup Series season opener.
The driver of the No. 9 car held off Ryan Blaney to cruise down victory lane in the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top-five finishers while Kyle Larson finished 17th after securing the last-chance qualifier.
The field returns a week from Thursday for the Duels at Daytona to set up the iconic race from Florida on Sunday, February 16th.
