The Bison Men’s Basketball team jumped out to an early lead against the Wildcats. The first seven minutes of play saw NDSU bombard the field with six three-point buckets to work out to a quick 24-4 lead.
Weber State’s offense eventually would wake up, as a Miguel Tomley bucket with about eight minutes left on the clock had the Wildcats down 11. NDSU’s Jacksen Moni would answer with a pair of buckets of his own however and the Bison would work right back up to a 16-point lead.
North Dakota State would ultimately go into the break, up 42-34, after seeing the Wildcats close out the half with eight straight points.
Coming out of the half-time break, Senior Forward Jacksen Moni hit his fourth three-point attempt of the night. The Bison would primarily play the second half ahead with a comfortable lead. A Noah Feddersen made shot with a little under 14 minutes left to play had NDSU up 16 points at 58-42.
Weber State would stay lurking, however as Alex Tew would knock down a pair of jumpers to kickstart a nine-point run for the Wildcats to bring this game to within three points with just over five to play. Just as Weber State had momentum and could’ve tied the game, Jacari White answered for NDSU, seizing the momentum with a three-pointer, bringing the Bison’s lead back to six. The Bison would make nine of their ten free-throws in the final three minutes to officially seal the deal on this game, ending in a final score of 77-73.
Senior Jacksen Moni lead the Bison in scoring with 22 points, on 4-5 three point makes. Jacari White also had 20 points, grabbing nine rebounds for the Bison. Weber State was lead in scoring by Viljami Vartiainen, as he finished with 18 points with four three-point makes.
North Dakota State will be back in action Saturday in Fargo to host Northern Colorado at 7:00 p.m.
