North Dakota State redshirt Junior left-handed pitcher Nolan Johnson has been named the Summit League peak Pitcher of the Week the league office announced. This is the first Weekly honor of his collegiate career.
Johnson led the Bison with seven shutout innings that included 10 strikeouts in a 6-3 series opening win over Omaha this past weekend. He retired the games first 17 batters, before giving up a two-out single in the sixth inning.
He has a 3-3 record so far in the 2025 season with all three wins coming gin Summit League play. This season he has recorded a career-high 39 strikeouts over 39 1/3 innings. Johnson currently ranks third in the Summit with a 3.33 ERA (earned run average). He has also help opposing hitters to a .209 batting average.
Johnson is the second Bison this season to earn the Summit League’s Peak Pitcher of the Week honor, joining Logan Knight who had earned the honor back on March 17.
NDSU will continue its road trip on Tuesday night in Omaha against Creighton. First pitch will be scheduled for 6 p.m.
