(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are cleaning house on their hitting coaches.
A day after firing lead hitting coach David Popkins, the club also let go of hitting coach Rudy Hernandez, assistant hitting coach Derek Shomon, and infield coach Tony Diaz. The Twins missed the playoffs after a September collapse that was fueled by abysmal numbers at the plate.
Minnesota hit just .218 as a team during the last month of the season.
