Twins split four game series with Rays

The Minnesota Twins defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 to wrap up their four game midweek series on Thursday afternoon.

Pablo Lopez earned the win after tossing 6 ⅔ innings with nine strikeouts while only giving up only three runs. Griffin Jax tossed 1 ⅓ shutout innings in relief, while Jhoan Duran threw a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Edouard Julien led the offense with a three run homer while Matt Wallner hit a solo shot in the game.

The Twins will remain on the road this weekend as they visit division foe Kansas City. The weekend series will begin on Friday night with first pitch slated for 7:10 p.m. Zebby Matthews will get the nod for Minnesota while Cole Ragans counters for the Royals.

Minnesota is still in second place in the AL Central at 76-64. In other team news, Max Kepler was placed on the ten-day injured list.
