On Tuesday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Minnesota Vikings and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen have agreed to terms on a contract. The deal is for three years and is worth $60 million.
Allen was released by the Washington Commanders this past Friday after the team failed to find a trade partner for him. In 109 career games, Allen has recorded 401 total tackles (241 solo, 160 assisted) with 42 sacks. During his time with Washington, Allen earned two Pro Bowl selections.
Additionally, the Vikings re-signed cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. and came to terms on a free agent contracts with center Ryan Kelly and cornerback Isaiah Rodgers.
Murphy’s new deal is worth $66 million over three years. Last season he recorded 81 tackles with a career-high six interceptions and 14 passes defended.
Kelly agreed to a two year contract with Minnesota worth $18 million. In nine seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, he was named to four Pro Bowls.
Rodgers and the Vikings came to terms on a two year worth with $15 million. In four NFL seasons he has recorded 116 tackles, 14 passes defended, and three interceptions.
