Wild take down Maple Leafs

(Toronto, ON) — The Minnesota Wild got off to a strong start during a 3-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

Marat Khusnutdinov and Jared Spurgeon both lit the lamp in the first period to give Minnesota an early 2-0 lead. William Nylander made it a one-goal game by scoring in the middle of the third period, but Marcus Foligno knocked in an empty-netter with 15 seconds left in regulation to seal the win. Minnesota has won three of five.

The Wild remain in third place in the Central Division with 64 points and a 30-17-4 record. Minnesota will visit the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday at 8 p.m.
