On Friday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves welcomed the Phoenix Suns to the Target Center for their fourth and final regular season meeting. Minnesota had already won each of the previous three meetings.
The Wolves controlled the game early, outscoring the Suns by at least five points in each of the first three quarters. Minnesota led 92-75 entering the fourth quarter and were outscored for the first time all evening, but it was only by two points.
Minnesota took down Phoenix 124-109 to end the regular season 4-0 against the Suns.
Julius Randle led the Pack with 25 points, right assists, and six rebounds. Anthony Edwards added 20 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Rudy Gobert chipped in 17 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. Jaden McDaniels (16), Mike Conley (13), and Donte DiVincenzo (13) all also scored in double figures for Minnesota.
Kevin Durant paced Phoenix with 23 points followed by Royce O’Neale’s 21 points off the bench.
Minnesota currently sits at 42-32 and in eighth place in the Western Conference. They are half a game back of Golden State and Los Angeles (Clippers) for the elusive sixth seed with eight games remaining in the regular season.
The Wolves will host the Detroit Pistons on Sunday with the opening tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
