Weekend clipper and LRC forecast into February

A clipper system which was predicted by the LRC months ago is right on time this weekend.  The good news is it doesn’t look like a BIG weather maker for the F/M area but it will provide quite a bit of wind with “some” snow.  Accumulations look to be minor with slightly higher amounts into lakes country and Eastern MN

Snowmobilers rejoice if you are heading to the Arrowhead of MN.   As you can see 1/2″ or less for much of the Valley with 1-2″ the farther east you go.   Now watch out for strong winds on Sunday with blowing snow into Lakes country.

Cold weather settles in for all of next week and according to the LRC, a few snow events will be coming into the area through the middle of the month with snowpack increasing.  Here is one models prediction of snow totals through Feb. 10th:

This is just ONE models prediction through the 10th of Feb.   We don’t concentrate too much on totals that far out but we look at trends among the models and all are trending to increasing snowpack.   LRC is predicting a possible bigger storm around mid month so….STAY TUNED…..
